What is the name of your state?tennessee
i have a friend who had to appear in court for violating his probation.his sentence was to serve 30-60 days in jail...serving them on the weekends. he is no longer under bond considering he appeared in court,he's to report to jail in jan. my question is,considering the charge, jail time to serve, not under bond though....if he was to be in another state, not show for his jail term, would they persue a warrent for arrest outside the state of tennessee?
if he was for any reason arrested or just I.D'd in another state, would that warrent be waiting for him and would they extradite(?) him back to the state of tennessee?

Yep. And the arrest warrant would be put out on the NCIC... where any law enforcement agency in the country could find it WHEN (not if) he is stopped for anything. And no, his warrant would not 'expire'.

Yes, he would be 'on hold' by any agency that stops him. As for whether TN would extradict, depends largely on the charges and the costs involved in returning him to TN. And guess what... if TN doesn't want him at that time, the arresting agency will release him (after a while.... and costs of his car tow, etc.)..... only so that he can go through the exact same thing next time.... and the next... and the next, etc., until he finally realizes, "Gee, maybe I should go back to TN and get this taken care of".

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Plus, it gives the contacting officer a nice, warm and fuzzy feeling to hear the dispatcher come back to an inquiry with, "Ten thirty six?" (In my county term 10-36 is shorthand that a warrant may exist for the subject.)

Nothing like a Glock 21 pressed to the temple to clean someone's ear wax out.

Ours was 10-99.

I also knew some California codes used were:
10-27, confirmed the 'want'
10-27v, was vehicle 'want'
10-27f, was felony 'want'
10-27m, was misdemeanor 'want'

It varies a lot by county and jurisdiction ... when I started my career, I was with a large agency that used a "9 code" (kiss that Academy training for the "10 code" right out the window!) ... when I went down south, they used a different 10 code than the one I was familiar with, and when I came to the great northern heartland, the 10 codes were at least half different.

Here, 10-27 is a request to check DL status. Down south we had 10-36m and 10-36f for the warrant confirmation (misdemeanor or felony) ... and others ...

Ah, the trip down memory lane.

EDIT: Oh! And 10-99 here means, "I needed help yesteday! Send the Marines, the Mounties AND the girl scouts!"
