Help! What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ILLINOIS I have been served with court papers for class a misdemeanor theft in the amount of 539.36. I was never arrested. This is from an employer for theft of a gift certificate. ( I didnt steal it but my manager who gave me permission is now saying otherwise and he is an ex cop, so I really see no point in fighting it). I just want to be sure this is not on my record becuase I will be taking my nursing exams soon. Please advise. Thank you Thank you ![]() |

| The only way to keep this off your record is to be found not guilty or have the charges dismissed. It will be on your record if convicted. You need the services of an attorney, see one soon.
