What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas - Can I face charges for pawning items that where stolen if I was unaware of it at the time?

In order to be convicted the State would have to prove that you did know they were stolen at the time. Of course this knowledge can be inferred even if there is no evidence that you were explicitly told or shown that the items were stolen. In other words, you can't stick your head in the sand and play dumb if it should have been obvious that the items were stolen.

Whether or not this can ultimately be proven or not, you can still be charged.
