Help Me Please, Anyone!!!!!!????!!!!!

undefinedWhat is the name of your state? Maine

I posted this same exact thing yesterday.

In May of 2004 my boyfriend punched out a jewlery store window while drunk( this was after the fact that his "friends" had played a prank on him). The next day he spoke with the guy who owned the building to the window and agreed to work off the damages he caused, he also busted a water pipe to a store below. He worked off about $550 of the $600 worth of damages he caused. He was told by the owner of the building that the damages did not exceed no more then $600.
In July of 2004 he went to court for this mishap, where he was told that he did not need to be there and his case was dismissed. On Feb. 14th he was pulled over in my vehicle for an uninspected car. where he was arrested for having a warrant out for him . He was being charged with Aggravated Criminal mischief. He has been in Jail since the 14th it is now the 17th, he has not spoken with anyone, we don't have money to hire him a lawyer, or the money to bail him out ( $5000 cash bail). These are the things I don't get, how can someone be charged with something after they were told the case was dismissed. He is also now being told that the damages were $5000 after he was told they didn't exceed more then $600.
Someone please help me...I have no clue what to do.
He is beig told that his hearing is March 3rd, I have been doing some research and found that if arrested on a warrant you should have a preliminary hearing within 10 days...so does that mean if the hearing is not within 10 days they have to let him out? March 3rd would be 3 weeks. I need to know what I can do to help him...anyone???!!!!

Q: Someone please help me...I have no clue what to do.
A: Tell BF to get a public defender.

A: Post the statute number where you found this and a link to it.
