holding in this county for a warrant in a different oneWhat is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Illinois my boyfriend was picked up in this county for a warrant in a different county but the other county hasn't come to pick him up yet i was wondering if there is a time limit like 30days or 72hours that this county can hold him before the other one comes to get him because he cannot be arraigned or have a bond hearing until the other county comes to get him. HELP! everyone keeps telling me different things i just want the truth Also, my boyfriend has never been in trouble before so neither of us know too much about his rights in a case like this. The warrant is an original warrant and we were never even notified that he had one we got pulled over and it came up neither of us had any prior knowledge of it. Aren't you supposed to be notified when a warrant has been issued? The company that filed the complaint had his address and phone number and he owns his own buisness so its not like we were hard to findLast edited by Leah louise; 08-07-2002 at 09:11 PM. |

| the warrant was for a class 3 grand theft charge, it was an original warrant. so it wasn't for failure to appear or anything like that. |

| A person picked up for a warrant has up to 180 days to be picked up before he must be released---but the charges don't go away. He can be picked up again, right away. Agencies don't have to tell you that you are wanted. I guess they figure that if you know, you will run. Did your boyfriend waive his rights to extradition?? If so, every 10 days, he sees a judge to see if he can be released and every day counts toward his sentence. If not, it's every 30 days and the time in jail does not count toward his sentence. |
