Speak for yourself.

Do not speak for anyone else here.

Trust me.
Umm...you are one of the daily (?hourly) posters here who has never given one piece of useful advice, just one-liners. Now, I may have missed your cache of legal gems, but my perusal of the archives unearths nothing of value from you.

In that regard, you are tied with Zigner and Antigone*. You three post many times a day, mostly with one-liners, have no legal or personal experience to impart, and are pretty stupid to boot.

EDIT: Holy crap! 27.9 posts a day???? I was just kidding about the hourly posts, but you actually post more than hourly! 30 thousand posts?? None of which contain useful advice? How is that even possible?

I realize that you are just here to entertain yourself while collecting your disability payments (I can't imagine a usefully employed person spending so much time here), but some of the posters here are at low moments of their lives seeking legal advice, not idiotic short comments from you three.

No matter the source, most all comments have some use. If for nothing else, to see how others react to the story told.

Congrats! Although in your position I would've paid the $1500 for a lawyer to be pretty certain to win the case.

Can you give us a blow-by-blow for educational purposes?

Thanks.
Arsenic, in short I told the story of what happened on page 1.

After her road rage incident, we went our own ways. A month later I got a court summons. Went in there and plead not guilty was given a trial date.

The morning of trial the state attorney offered me a plea deal of withhold of adjudication and pay $260 in court costs. I said that sounds like a good deal but crappy for a bogus case like this where I'm innocent.

He said he can't offer me legal advice if I'm truly innocent I can take the deal be done with it or we can go to trial and he wishes me the best.

I chose trial, had my questions for the lady pre written out in a way to paint the picture. Her story told in court under pressure was slightly different than that told in her police report. I also intimidated her a little bit by asking her attorney-like yes/no questions like "You state you pulled directly behind me after following me for a mile correct" and she tried explaining herself I interrupted "YES OR NO Ms. Jones" and basically formed my questions in a way to paint a picture of the events that took place IE: Angry disgruntled road raging woman's victim turned off, I became her new victim, she wanted to teach me some lesson, endangered myself and my family while driving down the road, pulling behind me and shouting at me admitting I was at her drivers side. Then magically I re appeared on her passenger side, broke her mirror we both drove off and she went gambling at the casino then called the police the next day.

My story was solid because it was the truth corroborated by my fiance that was also in the car with me, and hers was shaky and inconsistent with her police report. The judge looked at her told her he believes her. He then said the problem is he also believes me. He said next time no matter how angry she is DO NOT follow anyone. He said IF I broke her mirror be thankful that is all that happened to her, and call the police at the scene of any crime, do not leave the scene.

He said he has plenty of doubt about this case. NOT GUILTY.

Sorry, I meant your story at the trial, since I already read your OP.

Again, congrats. It is uplifting to read about someone winning a case because of umm, innocence.

Still, in your boots, I would've gone with a lawyer.

I respectfully disagree. I maintain that Proserpina, Zigner, and Antigone* have never posted anything of value in their cumulative 70 thousand posts here. I hope that their cynical, snorting responses are not indicative of reactions of the typical layman.

Look, I appreciate that almost none of the posters are lawyers, or law-enforcement officers, or even been a plaintiff or defendant. I greatly value that 4-5 of you offer expert comments, and those with life-experience who contribute. The fact remains that the 3 people I cited have posted *nothing* of value in 70 thousand posts! Zero!

You know you wouldn't want them on a jury where you are on trial for a crime. It's not that it's True, but true for you. I believe you and I are more towards the risk portion of the spectrum while they are more towards the safety part of the spectrum. There are other attributes related to that difference as well. To dismiss the part of the population who don't feel as you do as wrong in some way is as much of a mistake as to believe the other group doesn't exist.
