How do I check the status of a case?

What is the name of your state? Dekalb County GA
How do I check the status of a case? Last year the police came to my residence and it was found to be a big misunderstanding with both parties not filing charges. I was given a case number and told a detective might try to contact me in the future but the officer told me he probably won't. I was already in the process of moving but I never heard from anyone while I was still at that residence or at my new residence. I have searched the Dekalb County case database online and have found nothing. I do not have the case number which the officer handed to me but I do know the exact date of the incident. Is there somewhere I can call to find out the information, i no longer live in GA
