How long before a warrant is releasedWhat is the name of your state? CA I was detained in the state of CA for two days on a warrant. When I was released I was given a paper that said that they could re arrest me if they gathered more evidence. My question is when that warrant always be out there or does it go away until another one is requested. I"m just tired of living in fear that if I get pulled over it will show up even though I was released. My lawyer says he signed an agreement with the DA that they would contact him before coming after me again and breaking down doors. Thanks |

What likely happened to you is that you were released on your own recognizance for the time being but that the court could revoke that release should it become necessary. A new arrest would also have to be in the form of a warrant. - Carl
