How to obtain a police report

How do I get a copy of a police report? I tried calling the sheriffs office but they said I couldnt get it cause the case is still ongoing. That doesnt seem right to me. What else can I pull on the case so I have more information? I got pulled over street racing.

Police reports are public record. In Ohio they are part of the public record and police stations still don't recognize it. Try using FOIA.
