I need help fastState of MA; I lied on a police report and signed a statement that was not true. The trial is coming up and the defendant is looking at five years for assault and battery because of the statement I made. He did not commit the crime I said he did and I do not know what my legal options are. The trial is in about a week and I don't know what to do and what kind of trouble I am going to be faced with. Thank you for any response you can give me. |

| the only thing that you can do is call the prosecuter's office and explain your actions and probably the reason you made a false statement to begin with.do it now before they go through the expence of a trial where you can face serious penalties for perjury. at this point you may or may not be penalized for filing a false report, but it would still be minimal compared to the sentence you could get for perjury. hopefully they have bigger fish to fry and let you off with a severe tongue lashing option 2 - be a coward |
