What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

is it considered a legal search if a nurse in the emergency rooms finds drugs in my clothing and gives it to the police?

The title of the thread is "illegal search", so I misread the question as asking if it was an illegal search. So, my answer should have been...Yep!
