What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New mexico
I was hit gy the swat team in october 2007.they did a controlled buy on my niehgbor, they saw him jump his back fence to get the dope they then issued warrants for both of our addresses and hit us one at a time.durung the next two hours or so the detective whos name is on my indictment first went to my nieghbors house then to my house then back to my nieghbors and then back to mine. I was told that the investigating officer could not leave your residence untill the search was complete, much less frequent between one of your potential co defendants home. You were told wrong ... unless there is some very peculiar law in NM.

Once the officers surrender the location where they have served a search warrant, they would need a new warrant to make entry anew. But, there is no requirement anywhere that I have heard of that will require the primary investigating officer to remain at the scene.
