What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? KY

If a person is in jail with an arm in a cast, and it's time for it to be looked at and the cast likely removed - what happens? Is the jail even required to do anything about it? Are they likely to take him to a hospital? I'm not sure how much longer he'll be there, between a few days and some months. Obviously if it's a few days then it doesn't matter, but if it's longer, what happens in this situation?
Thanks.

It's up to the incarcerated individual to open their mouth and advise corrections personnel that he needs medical attention.
