Judge denied firing of lawyerWhat is the name of your state? Indiana My boyfriend went to court and requested his court appointed lawyer to be fired so he could retain his own, because she would never return his phone calls, or send any kind of paperwork on his case. He felt that he was being improperly represented. He asked the judge in open court to fire his lawyer and the judge denied his request. Can he legally deny that request or is that going against his right to fire his lawyer.What is the name of your state? |

| Sounds like OP's area uses court appointed (county-paid) attys in lieu of PDs. OP: you don't get to choose your publicly paid attorney. If he doesn't like the atty, he can 1. hire his own atty, or 2. represent himself. |
