To Kane...ans. to Granddaughter's arrest

Thank you for replying Kane. She is in jail...under $50,000 bond at present and the reason we thought it might be a federal offense she might be charged with is that the Public Defender, who has never even talked to her, called us today and said it would be turned over to federal court tomorrow when she has a prelim. hearing! We have no idea why they said that, but as far as the reports in news and on TV the alleged burglaries happened here in Bethel and no mention was made of any state involved except Ohio. We will attend the prelim.hearing tomorrow and try to find out what evidence they can possibly have against her...she has denied any involvement and we tend to believe her ...she showed bad judgment in dating the Herndon boy ...they were together in various places at various times as any dating couple tend to be and that is all we can find out that they have against her! The police have lied to us on numerous occasions and have branded her and Jason in the newspaper and on TV coverage as drug addicts! We have never known her to take drugs and we are outraged they can make these accusations against a person with no proof! Anyway, thank you for your input and we would welcome any other advice you may have.
