Laptop Theft / Ebay Warrant ?

What is the name of your state? New Jersey.

Tomorrow at work they are "interviewing" all employees that have access to a secure area where Laptops were stolen. I have heard reports of 20-40 laptops were taken. The area they are talking about is where all the old computers go are disposed of. Since this was a basic scrap heap of computers, I know of one of the employees that went through the computers and pieced together 4 good laptops and sold them on ebay. He is now sweating it out before they interview him.

My questions are. What should he do during the interview ( this is an internal non police involved interview ) if they accuse him of stealing the laptops.
Also what would it take for law enforcement to view your records of items sold on ebay? Is this admissable in court as evidence ? Also what kind of probable cause would it take for them to obtain such a warrant ? They have said the laptops were taken over a period of time so they are interviewing everyone that has access to the site.. Would just having access to a site allow them to obtain a search warrant for a website ?

Did you make a decent profit on the laptops?

The only good thing about this is that used computer equip isnt worth alot and hopefully it wont be a felony. You have to pay just to get rid of old computers in some jurisdictions because of the toxic components.
