legal rights help slander

What is the name of your state? Texas

I work in a prison as a nurse. A nurse practitioner told another nurse that the reason I never get an any trouble is because I am F*****G the director of nurses. I have not done this and this statement has been brought up by her husband who also works at the same unit but as an officer. The nurse that was told this said that she would put what was said to her in writing if I needed it. What should I do? I am now subjected to this embarrassment in my workplace which I have invested five years of my life to.
