What is the name of your state? south carolina

is it legal to place listening devices in a law enforcement vehicle without his/her knowledge? their take home vehicle which they don't trade out. if it is legal, for how long can they leave it in the vehicle?

Or you asking whether someone can bug another person's vehicle without the latter's knowledge?

Yes I am asking if a local government owned vehicle can be bugged, The factors are the car is taken home by a single employee and driven only by that employee

No. They cannot legally wiretap a car without a court order.

Box Car you are so helpfull thank you, we had heard that some law considered said some vehicles could be considered offices and it would be legal to invade privacy. Is this type of bugging something that generally gets the evidence suppressed or it ends up being a long court battle through appeals?
