Is this for you.... or someone else?

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Yep. You have the rights to know about any outstanding criminal charges against you. You may NOT have that same right against others.

Why not just answer the simple question? Are you looking for information about yourself or someone else?

Of course you can certainly go out and pay for a 'criminal background' check on anyone you want.
However, the 'qualification' you put in your post ("Is there any guaranteed way to get definite results?") may, or may not, be met.

Thanks

Thanks for the info... I must ask this person to get this information himself then. It is job related and he must get it.
What is the best/cheapest way for him to get it? How long does it usualy take?
Thanks again for all this help! I greatly apreciate it...

If your friend is applying for a job the cheapest way is to let them run it and ask them for the results.

People who don't commit crimes seldom have to worry about background checks.

And those are NOT legal advice questions. The simple answer is.... search the internet. You are not paying me enough to do it for you.
I will give you a headstart though. Go to:

I am obviously not familiar with the routine.... The headstart is great...
Thanks again!

The best way to find out about warrants is to go up to a cop and ask him to check ... you might go to jail, but then you'd know.

And there is no such thing as a single, generic, "background check". One service may catch a warrant and another might not. Some counties and states put warrants on the internet and announce them, while others don't. And unless a check encompasses every place you have ever lived and worked, there will be no way to know for sure if you have a warrant.
