What is the name of your state? Texas

I have a warrant out, and am going to turn myself in this week, my question is can I get the bail amount lowered and if so how do I go about doing it. I am trying not to spend any time in jail when I turn myself in so it doesn't cause any problems with work. I have the bail bondsman lined up, but don't want to pay him if I can get the bail lowered. I'm being charged with a misdemeanor, and the bail is $10,000.00 (thanks to my x-girlfriend and her police friends) for a criminal misch. charge. Can I talk to the judge or something when I turn myself in, or is it best just to pay it.
Thanks in advance
