Methadone in jail,or prison

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? N.C. Hi again evey1
Methaone is a prescribed mdicine for alot of people in jail.and prisons. It is very dangerous to just come off of it instantly. It is a law not to administer a controlled substance incarcerated?

I have heard of a few people dieing in jail or prison from this happening. They just lt it go and pay no attention. I think they should at least help ween them off.

Thanks for any reply even though their som heartless people in this world.

Prisoners are given non narcotic drugs to control the withdrawl. Methodone is suppose to be a gateway to recovery, not a lifelong alternate to illegal drugs. It is one of the most abused prescription drugs today.
