misdemeanor petit theft, need help

What is the name of your state? Florida

i was recently arrested for petit theft from a local wal-mart. this is the first time i have ever been arrested for anything. the amount was around $60 and i have to go to court. i was wondering what a possible sentance would be that i would receive. and also, is there anything i need to do to prepare for court, i have never been before, no idea what to do...
please help me out

...But I have similar situation in California...Stolen property was around $300. I hired an attorney. He told me 99% there are no jails but you must pay fine (more than $1000) and 3 years probation and 30 days of community services...Mine is commercial BURGLARY. The attorney will try to reduce it to misdemeanors. You should find out in your state for consequences but my opinion, considering is your first time and value is less than $100, you will pay fine and probation and services...Good luck!!
