What is the name of your state? Colorado.
My friend's file from the court house is misplaced. What happen's if they cannot find it in a timely manner?

They can either reproduce it or they can drop the matter.

What kind of file is missing? If it is a file of his criminal proceeding, they can likely reproduce it as the documents originated elsewhere anyway.

His criminal record the one that the judge is suppose to have.
That is easily reproduced - I can do it in five minutes. If it is a record of the details of his sentencing and court history in that particular court, THAT may take some doing ... but his Criminal Offender Record is easily obtained.

What does his lawyer say?
