name of C.I (who isnt one) appears in document

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ

Hi this is my first time posting here and hopefully someone can help me out.

Okay so recently a document has surfaced around my area claiming ME to be a C.I. This legal document, with a state seal on it and signatures from officers, states the following among other things .....
"[MY FIRST AND LAST NAME HERE] the C.I.".

This information was provided to an unknown person by their attorney.

With that, once again among other things in the document, it states that i was stopped by police in my vehicle twice... and upon the second time complying with police to become a C.I. This document also states i gave a list of names of those affiliated with drugs.

I've only been pulled over once in my life ... going 40 in a 25 and let off with a warning.
I'm not a C.I.

because of this information spreading like wild fire, there is a chance physical harm will possibly come my way. As a criminal justice major myself i am baffeled... is there legal action to take against this? can i request the documents in which my name appears on claiming i am a C.I.?

(the most confusing part is.... if i was a C.I.... they wouldnt release my name)

Making an official looking document is easy. Perhaps you should check with the agency that supposedly originated the document and see what records THEY have concerning you. It sounds like it might be part of an affidavit for a search warrant or some such thing, but, until or unless you can pull a copy from an agency supposedly in possession of it, this could just be a bad "joke".

Do you hang out with people that might consider this information important? I know if such a document surfaced with MY name on it, I'd have a good laugh (and maybe be miffed), but everyone would know it's a fraud as I don't do dope or hang with dopers.
