What is the name of your state? Massachusetts

What is the name of the charge if you threaten someone with a weapon but not make contact yet?

Possibly aggravated assault - really need more details including type of weapon. If victim is actually touched by person doing crime, it is assault & battery; victim not attacked - only threatened, then crime is assault. However, if assault is with deadly weapon, it is aggravated assault which is more serious than simple assault.

Most states have a 'brandishing' charge - a misdemeanor charge.

Most states also have a criminal (or terrorist) threats charge (can be msdm or felony) - depends on what verbal threats, if any, were made by the brandisher & the effect on the victim.

Why are you asking ? The police are very knowledgable as to whether a crime was committed, and these 'names of crimes' are conclusions; the facts will denote the crime.

So, are these potential acts, career goals on your part ?

Are you a thief considering a foray into violent crime ?
or
Are you a violent criminal, and you're considering your next step up in your violent 'resume' ?

What have you, previously, been convicted for ?

The arson will probably be a felony. What did you burn (pl say it wasn't a house). That's a 'serious' crime in most jurisdictions (strike in CA)....that's a biggie.

B&E - depends on whether it was a residence or store/commercial

A&B PO - was the cop hurt badly, or just minimal injuries ? Whether it's a felony or msdm will depend on the injuries & the filing Prosecutor.

Well, you're not a convicted criminal yet. No bragging rights.
You're innocent til proven guilty ...

Are you bipolar ? ADHD ?
