Question

need advice please!!

What is the name of your state?VA
If I have a warrent for my arrest from 3 years ago for bad check for $450, will it come up on my background check?? The reason I am asking is because I have moved twice since then to different states, got DL in both states with no problem, and the warrent was never issued because I had already moved. Therefore, there is no conviction yet.

A warrant does not come up on a background check, they are not made for the public to see, only for law enforcement. Doing your own back ground search, you will not be able to see it.

Now yesterday, someone accused me of NOT having the education of a retarded monkey! I wish y'all would get your act together.

And, oh, by the way, I was correct.

If you have a background check done by law enforcement, your warrant definitely will come up. Some companies also have access to this.

Here's how this works.

A warrant is issued for your arrest. Let's assume it is for a felony.

Someone (usually the sheriff's department or highway patrol) puts that warrant into a national database used by all states. (NCIC is what it used to be called, maybe still is. National Crime Information Computer? Something like that.)

If the warrant is from, say, FL, and you are driving in CA and get stopped, the cop stops you and runs your record from the info on your driver's license.

There are some companies that have access to this info. How, I do not know. Once your name gets into one of those company's databases, there is virtually no way to get it back out!

In any event, you have a bigger problem in that if you get the job and you are found out, you will lose your job. Don't take my word for it; post your questions in the military law forum and tell them I sent you over so you do not get nastygrams for double posting.

Why are you on here asking if you already know it all? Why don't you run out and pay an attorney to tell you instead of acting like an as$ on the internet? Better still, why not live a life without crime so you don't have these concerns?

Q: how can a charge come up without court date or conviction??
A: It is the arrest warrant that comes up.

Q: there is a huge difference between a warrent and a bench warrent!!
A: Really? What are the differences?
