Question

new charges

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Utah. is it legal for a Police Officer to issue a ticket, have you sign it and then add new charges to that ticket?

As long as you are being charged with the new crime within the Statute of Limitations, yes, the state may produce new charges.

The daughter had a DUI, also had pot. Mom is angry that the pot charge was added.
