no info at original place of arrest

What is the name of your state? IL.
hi and thanx for any info. you supply. first off this is about my brother, he has just been released from jail going on 3 weeks after 2 yrs. in. there are no warrents out for his arrest or no reason to be pulled over cuz the truck he was driving belongs to my father. this is what i have so far. he was driving and pulled over, the first thing my b. did was inform the cop he was on parole
and handed over his info. from then on he said the cop was being an "*******", he searched my brother and found 180 $ on him and then he had my brother take a breath test ie. to see if he was drinking and driving and that came up negative, which he said made the cop even more pissed, i don't know cuz i was not there, but has happened to me in the past and i have a very clean record, well the cop proceeded to arrest my brother and when he asked what he was being arrested for he was told to be queit, he asked for his money back and the cop told him what money? anyway he was taken to the station and the vehicle was impounded, he was procesed and was sent from there to county jail. why we don't know maybe cuz he is on parole, so my mother and i went to where he was arrested to get more info on why he was arrested and they told us they have no info it was all sent to county, is this true? how can they have no info. every place keeps some records. well then we asked about the truck which belongs to my father they said they do have the truck and it is impounded here, but we can't get to it til monday, when asked why they said thats the way its done. what can i do? what do i document, record or whatever.

There are reports with the arresting agency. They wouldn't just pass the stuff on without documenting things themselves. The problem is that getting it is really slow and difficult under the Freedom of Information Act.

If your brother had money, and it was taken by the officer, then he needs to make a complaint with internal affairs. They should offer him, then the officer a polygraph. If he passes, and he doesn't, then they should recognize they have a problem (maybe).

If he was arrested in Podunk, then a really good lawyer will have to prove he had money, that the cop took it, and that the cop abused him.
