My husband was charged with possession of stolen vehicles. He had been given permission to take a vehicle to sell. The report was made by the owners' son. The officer called and the owner agreed that the vehicle should not have been reported stolen. But, the officer did not follow these instructions and went through with arrest and search. The dates given on the officers report indicate that he knew the vehicle was to be removed from the stolen vehicle registery. He failed to do that or pass the information to any one else. The charges remained. The case has been postponed numerous times. Not until now, have we finally found the information that was with held. What action should we take against this officer? With statements and depositions we are still helpless until this goes to trial. We live in Indiana.
