Out of state license

What is the name of your state?ohio
I am from ohio. I moved to Flordia got my licenses transfered to Flordia I then returened to ohio to visit family. During my time back up in Ohio I got pulled over the officer told me my Ohio license were suspened but my Flordia license were valid? Now if Ohio IS a co-operatable Flordia. Does this give them the rights to tow my car?

Yep. If you are not valid to drive in Ohio, then the car you were illegally driving can be towed (if Ohio law allows for the towing of vehicles driven by unlicensed or suspended/revoked drivers - and I believe it does).

See how the past can come back to haunt you?

Oh, and don't be surprised if Ohio passes the word to FL that your license is suspended and then FL suspends it also ... depending on the reason for the suspencion in OH it CAN happen.

Is it your driver's license or the actual license plate on the car? I am a Florida resident and just got my first FL drivers license and they ran a check on my old NM license after asking me if my driving privileges were suspended...hmmmmmmm

Cool

Out of state license

Well the main reason why my Ohio license were suspended was from a 12pts That then allows me to get my driving license back How ever I must carry a bond (SR22) With my for 5yrs

Now, yes my Ohio license were valid when I had then transfered to Flordia the plates on the car were in my name with my new FL address I also point had my insureance transfered to FL as well.

The only reason why my license showed up as susded in the Ohio's BMV was because I am no longer insured on my Ohio license

The easiest way to explain this is that your DL is two fold:

1. You either have one your you don't. If you have a DL from another state, that counts as a DL in any state.

2. You have operating privledges. The state can either allow or disallow you to drive regardless of if you hold a license or not.

Scenarios:

1. You have a WI DL and are driving in MN where they have no record of you. You are valid to drive.

2. You have a WI DL and your privledges are suspended in MN. You may drive in WI, but not in MN.

3. You have a WI DL and your privledges are suspended in WI. This may vary from state to state, however, you should not operate in ANY state.
