What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? oklahoma

can you get a warrant for not paying child support dropped by calling and making payment arrangements? I am just scared that if my husband gets pulled over he may go to jail.

Once a warrant has been issued, you are not going to get it quashed by contacting the family court division by telephone. You can try calling an attorney, who once retained, could represent your husband and he/she can possibly have the warrant recalled.
However a judge will usually want to see and speak to your husband in person, to ask him why he hasn't followed the payment arrangements that are already in place.

If there is some legitimate reason why your husband hasn't made his support payments then he needs to approach the court, notify them of his situation and possibly request a modification.

However, if a warrant has been issued, it would be a result of him not making his court ordered payments, then not contacting the courts to explain why he hasn't been making them and basically, just ignoring his support responsibilities all together.

If he's pulled over and this warrant comes up, he will be taken to jail and held there until he speaks to a judge. He should really consider going to court and handling this matter voluntarily rather than waiting to be pulled in on the warrant. But either way, he is going to have to face the judge eventually. So not going in to resolve the issue, is just postponing the inevitable.

Tell him to go to court early Monday so he can get placed on calender and tell him to bring lots of money so he gets to come home.
