Please Help!

I was sledding at a golf corse with some of my friends and the cops showed up and arrested us for trespassing. We found out that the week before people had been out sledding and vandalized part of the corse. Now we didnt vandalize or hurt anything, but the owner of the corse says hes gonna make us pay for the damages the week before. Can he acuse us and win in court for something we didnt do?

He can certainly try. And if he alleges there had been no prior damage, then you may be stuck for the whole thing.

This is what happens when you commit the wrong crime in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Well as far as the trespass, easy case for the prosecution. As far as damage to the Golf course a week earlier. The burden of proof lies in the prosecution, or if this goes to civil court and the owner sues for damages......Where were you on the date and time the alleged damage had occured? Do you have people that can testify as to your location and activties? Quite frankly I don't see how they can prove anything other than Trespass....Having said that Are you telling us all the facts??Not advice, For what it's worth. Patrolman/J. Buckner
