Exclamation

please help

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? texas... how do you go about getting a continuance in a misdemenor case. I am supposed to be in court on the 18th of this month and a family emergency has come up and I have to go to tennessee. I live near Fort Worth Texas and the court is located in Austin Texas a four hour drive. I am a single mother of a twelve year old boy and a three year old girl. my monthly income is 529.23 a month and I have to be very carefull with my money right now as this little adventure that has now lasted 4 months and cost me my job. We are living off the money I have saved to buy a new house. How can I get a continuance with out having to drive there, as I already have to drive to tennessee to be with my mother.
