please help fast!!!


What is the name of your state? alabama
what is the legal length of time the state of alabama has to indict on a drug crime? i have a close friend who has been indicted on a 3.5 year old case, and i was under the impression that 'bama only has 3 years to indict, so i told her i would find out for her-this is my last resort!! please email me at [email]innamorata_soul@yahoo.com[/email] if you have any information so i can be notified asap!

I can only imagine that when your friend is appointed an attorney, that if the statute of limitations has passed, that the indictment will be dismissed.

however, I am reading that there are several felonies in AL that have 6 year SOLs. I have not yet found whether all drug crimes fall in this category or not.

However, the claim that he was indicted for a "drug crime" is pretty broad. And since SOLs tend to be crime and code section specific, it may not be possible to render a completely informed opinion on it.

He should wait for his attorney to answer the question.
