What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maryland
My Aunt was pulled for not properly displaying headlights. Okay now cars are made with Automatic(she was unaware and thought she turn them on but turn the off) It was a rental; Anyway she was breathlized and taken to a precint because the devise was broke. No search on site. The officers "search" the car after she gone and fond" marijuana". Is that legal. She doesn't smoke, and they charge her with possesion of marijuana 15 days after the incident she does have a dui charge. But can they charge her with possession in a search that was not conducted at the scene while her presence, hate to admit to it, But even I know dirty cops. Personally. Please someone respond ASAP. Thanks

I notice she doesn't deny it was there. Yes it was legal. A search incidental to a stop> And they were impounding the car? Therefore they are allowed to catalog the contents. And what time was it that she didn't realize she had the headlights off?
