Possiblity of Warrant

What is the name of your state? California

About 6 months ago i was stopped because i was driving aggressively and got a Notice to Appear for the misdameanor: exhibition of speed. My hearing date was scheduled for August 20, 2002 and when I went to court to check in with the clerk they told me that they did not have my case number in the system and that they would notify me as soon as the D.A filed charges. On that note the clerk told me I could go. It has been quite some time now and I was wondering if there is a possibility that there is a warrant for my arrest for failure to appear in court, as even though I appeared I never went before the judge because my case was not ready according to the clerk. Do I have anything to be concerned about as far as warrants? Also do I need to take the initiative to bug the court or should i just wait for them to notify me?

I would take the initiative if I were you to avoid possible nasty surprises later on.

Do you have any PROOF you did go to court on that day?

Was it in a different town then you live in? Did you keep any reciepts? use a credit card for gas or food, did you take time off from work? Do you punch a clock, or sign a time sheet, or was your paycheck less then a full week?

You will need something to prove you actually showed up for court that day. just in case there is a warrant...
