Probation OfficerMy Girlfriend's son sleeps on our couch and has "closet" space in our home. He lists this as his address. He is 21. His probation officer keeps stopping by at 6:30am to see if he is here. The Court did not order house arrest.. nor does he have any court restriction on his comming and going... but the PO told him to call in when he was sleeping elsewhere. What cource of action to I take here in CALIFORNIA to get some kind of supervisor of this lady to understand that waking up everybody in the house at 6:30 am is not accecptable. Grilling ME and the kids early in the morning isn't going to help her cause any. Does the Probation Officer have any RULES they must follow and how do I a) find out her protocalls.. and b) complain to whomever to make sureshe follows them. |

| probation officers can contact their probationers at any time. the unfortunate aspect of this is that he listed your residence as his place of residence. i don't know what he is on probation for or what his terms of probation are, but his probation officer may have a legitimate reason for contacting him at 6:30 am and for having him call when he stays at another residence. i would contact his probation officer and ask her. if her answer does not satisfy you, you can always contact her supervisor at the probation department. |

| my question is about my nephew, he is a Juvenile on probation and his probation officer told him he had to take a mental health counceling class because of a alleged fight that he got into with a kid over 18. this kid called his probation officer and told her this but no charges were ever pressed against my nephew or police report ever filled out so no court order says he has to do this. Can my nephew refuse these counceling classes? |

| it would probably depend on the state your in and the laws they have governing juvenile probationers. probation officers can request that their probationers seek counseling depending on the crime that has been committed, but i've never heard of mental health counseling for fighting. you may want to check with the probation officer because their may be other factors inveolved. you can also check with the probation supervisor and request his assistance if neccessary. good luck, tyris |
