Purse Party Raid & Property Seizure

What is the name of your state?Georgia
A friend of mine had a purse party at a neighbor's house. The inventory was replica handbags of Parada, Kate Spade, Coach and other name brands. Private Investigators from the manufacturers cased the party and gave the high sign to the waiting county detective.
My friend had her property seized, but was not arrested. The investigators told her to cooperate re:where & who she got the bags from. (so things will go easier on her). The detective asked her some questions and said that he would be back in touch or to call him if she had any questions. He took a picture of her drivers license, gave her a copy of the inventory of the seized bags and let her go.
Can anyone tell what the police proceedure is in this type of case? She is beside herself with fear that she will be arrested any day now. It's been to days since the event and no contact from the authorities. I keep telling her that they don't want the same lady just trying to make some extra x-mas money (that's all she was doing). Does she need to get a lawyer? Do they fine people in these types of cases? Do they procescute these types of cases? Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm not sure what she has been charged with ... selling brand name knockoffs? A pyramid scheme? What?

And its likely they have a year or more (depending on the offenses alleged) before they have to file any criminal charges. And its always possible she faces significant civil penalties from a name brand maker if she was attempting to pass bootlegged products.

Thanks for responding. She hasn't officially been charged with anything as of yet. The detective said that he would be in touch. I guess her question is how likely are the county and the manufacturers tto press this case if it was a small amount of "knock offs" and she does not manufacture.
If she tells them where she got the goods, can she get them to agree not to press further and to drop any litigation?

Not being familiar with your state or county, I cannot say WHAT they might do. However, civil and criminal court actions for this sort of thing is not uncommon. I suspect, however, that if she fully cooperates, she may well walk away without any criminal charges being filed.

She might consider consulting an attorney before agreeing to anything.
