St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana:
Stopped for speeding by Sheriff's department. Nothing in plain view, and we were asked if they may look in the vehicle. After the officer looked at things in plain view, we were asked to step out of the vehicle. The officer entered the car and thoroughly searched the car, including inside suitcases and duffle bags in the car.

Is this concidered an illegal search?

He was not given permission to search the vehicle and go through it's contents, only to look in plain view.
