school search of cars? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?alabama If a car is running and locked? They do not know who car it is, can school officers open the car and search the vehical? What if you leave your lights on and your car is locked on school property? I can understand towing away a vehical but using that bar to open the vechical? also there was nothing visable that would warrant anyone entering the vehical? |

It's also possible the school clearly has a rule that permits the search of all vehicles on their property ... iffy under the law, but with prior notice it can be perfectly acceptable. - Carl

| Q: If a car is running and locked? They do not know who car it is, can school officers open the car and search the vehical? A: Yes. The Fourth Amendment protects people, not abandoned cars. |
