What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? I have a sealed criminal record in the state of Colorado. I am working on my degree in criminal justice to become a probation officer. When a probation office does a criminal background check on me will my record come up sealed or will it show what the arrest was for?

My guess is they will have access to everything in your criminal past regardless of whether or not a case has been sealed.

Plus, when you are interviewed for the position, you will be questioned about your criminal past and possibly even required to take a polygraph exam.

How do you plan on getting around giving the honest answer to, "Have you ever been arrested for any crime?

Count on them learning the truth, so it will be much better to hear it from you than read it when they get your criminal records back from the justice department,,,
