search of home

What is the name of your state? CA

about a month ago deputy sheriffs were in pursuit of two people in a car (i'm not sure why they were pursuing them - they never told us).

the suspects pulled into my driveway and the passenger got out of the car and ran. However, the deputies did not see where the guy went. they said that by the time they pulled up the guy was already gone. i was at work at the time.

the deputies told me that they knocked on the door and searched around the house. they then said they heard a noise inside the house. so they kicked in the door to search for the suspect.

was it legal for them to enter my home?

Hot pursuit, no time for search warrant, perfectly legal.
