Search procedure for "excluded tenancy"What is the name of your state?Washington. What is the law regarding search of premises on an "excluded tenancy"? I rent rooms out in my home, and am wondering about police searching tenant's areas. How do I keep them separate? |

| Well, you can screen your tenants well and exclude those on probation or parole. Or, you can provide independent access (their own exit) so that they do not have access to any common areas of the house. If a tenant has access to an area of the home, and he is subject to search for probation or parole - or search warrant, then any place he has access to can be searched. EDIT: And doing a search on Google for "excluded Tenancy" found that it appears to be common in England, but the first 20 hits revealed no US definitions. - Carl
