| Search Warrants are issued for a location, the person who is the suspect in the Warrant doesn't have to own or live in the property. The Warrant gives officers permission to search a location for something that they believe is hidden. The object of that search is named in the Warrant. Some judges will allow officers to enter a location without knock and notice under certain circumstances, usually related to officer safety. |
