search warrants

What is the name of your state?wa
when a search warrant is issued, does it have to be in the name of someone who resides at the address to be searched?

No, a warrant can simply state the address. Warrants can really catch everyone off guard.

search warrants

a search warrant was issued for my address but the persons name on the warrant did not live here.

search warrants

well I just recieved a summons, stating, that I am being charged with possesion of a controled substance(metanphetamine), and this took place 10 months ago. they only found a miniscule trace, also the afidavit for the search warrant was based on events that never took place, but of course that will be a hard one to prove.

You need to contact an attorney. The attorney can raise the proper challenges to the charge. The warrant MAY be vulnerable provided that the information on the affidavit can be shown NOT to have occurred at your residence. But that's a big "maybe".

Consult local counsel.
