What is the name of your state? illinois
I Am 47 and live in chicago illinois. I was caught in cctv for shop lifting perfumes worth $190.
These perfumes were testers , half empty but was evaluated as new for $190. I had gone there to pick up my online order but was told to wait. The perfume dept was there and wile testing, I kept perfumes in my pocket which was very silly as they were half empty. I just got separated from my wife and was quiet upset.Please advice me if I should get lawyer, how much it cost and what to do not to go in my record as it is my first crime. what kind of punishment I can get. I feel miserable and I am not a rich man.
Please help me as my court date is on 2/25/08

You need a lawyer. Look for the bar association in the county you are charged in and call them and ask for a referral. A lawyer can best mitigate the outcome of your crime.
