Simple Assault

What is the name of your state? SD

I am being charged with simple assault and I have no prior convictions. I am kind of wondering what my options are. Everything happened between me and another girl. We were both intoxicated and things just got a little out of control. We fought for only a couple of seconds and no one was seriously injured. Everyone who saw the fight had also been drinking.

Also, I was never read any rights and I was arrested. I am just wondering if this matters?
