    speedy trail time

    What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio
    I was arrested and charged with a felony dui on may 20th 2010,filled a motion to dismiss in july a court date was set aug 3rd , the state asked for a contin. twice and it was granted,we finally went to court sept 30th the judge still has not ruled on this matter it has been over 120 days.does this go towards speedy trail time? How long can the judge take to rule on this matter?Its been 8 months since my arrest,I,m from a very small county only one judge.I did not sign a waiver.

    I am from Ohio also, and I would totally surprised if what you say is true, meaning the Common Pleas Court only has one Judge. Why do you belive this is true?

    Even the smallest County, Lake, has more than one!

    Are you still in custody?

    The right to a speedy trial is the time between your arrest and trial. If you had the trial, the right to a speedy trial is not an issue.

    I thought a speedy trial was actually a speedy trial ... like 5 minutes in length .. ready, set, LITIGATE!
