Statute of limitations/Embezzlement

What is the name of your state? Tennessee

My sister while working at an apt. complex in Mi. was accused of embezzlement along with her then husband (who by the way did the deed) She turned herself in, got an attorney, and proceded to try and fight the case, in the meantime her then husband was convicted of the crime and sent to jail they had 2 children and while awaiting trial she met and remarried and got pregnant by her new husband-they remained in mi. for 4 years she did not go back to court her attorney had been doing nothing for her and she got scared, She was never contacted by anyone nor was her family she now lives in another state-and it has been 7 years since the original court date that she missed-if she stays out of state is she safe? is there a statute of limitations on this or is she going to have this hang over her shoulder forever?
