What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Va
I have hired a lawyer to represent me in a legal case. Apparently the statute of limitations in my case against the defendant had expired and I am now being sued by the defendant for their legal fees. Shouldn't my lawyer have told me this before we pursued this? In fact, he told me there was no statute of limitations in this case at all. What do I do now?

Third party him into the case. And then report him to the Virginia State Bar. Absolutely that's the first thing he should have looked into.
